Former Mayor Anne Gonzales, a Republican, is a long time resident of Westerville and graduate of Otterbein College. Anne began her community service by serving on the Westerville Telecommunications Commission and the Westerville Re-Investment Housing Council. Elected as a member of Westerville City Council in 2001, she currently serves as Vice Mayor of Westerville and serves on the Finance Committee. During her 8 years on Council she has served as Mayor, Recreation Advisory Board Member, Westerville Parks Foundation Member, Planning Commission Member, and Fire Advisory Board Member, COTA Westerville Advisory Council Member.

Recognition of Westerville as the 15th best place to live the United States by CNN’s Money Magazine.
Participating in the development and planning of the annexation of 941 acres into Westerville.
Planning and developing Westar/Altair office park. This office park has resulted in over 4500 new jobs and an additional $3.5 million in new income tax revenues.
Expansion of Westerville park system by serving on PROS 2000 which allowed the Parks and Recreation Department to expand its park system to 550 acres with 39 parks and facilities. This included the construction of the 96,600 square foot Community Center and expanding Westerville’s 23 miles of leisure paths and bike trails.
Participation of planning and development of three major office parks in order to expand our tax revenue. These office centers provide a multitude of rental or ownership possibilities for businesses in the research and development, office/warehouse, and light industrial fields.
Support all tax abatements and tax incentives to encourage businesses to do business in Westerville.
Promoted a high quality public safety services that includes our Police, Fire, and Communications Divisions. For the eleventh time, Westerville’s Division of Fire received the Fire Life Safety Award.

Redevelopment of South State Street Corridor
Participated in the effort of adding to the City’s fiber optic infrastructure. Providing greater access to existing Central Ohio fiber networks.
Emphasizing sustainability and environment-friendly or “green” efforts. Participation in the Franklin County Green Pact.
